Latest company news about SPR-ing's Torque-Transmitting High-Speed Slip Ring Collector Project Passes User Acceptance
Project Success: High-Speed Slip Ring Collectors

On October 5, 2024, the project of torque-transmitting 20,000rpm high-speed slip ring collectors, specially developed by SPR-ing for a research institute, successfully passed acceptance! This marks the first time our company has delivered multiple non-standard customized high-speed slip ring collectors simultaneously, with a one-time acceptance pass rate of 100%.

In June 2024, SPR-ing received an invitation to bid from the research institute to supply slip ring collectors for an aero-engine project. The requirements included delivering multiple units of 24-48 contact high-speed slip ring collectors within three months, each with a service life exceeding 50 million revolutions. Additionally, the system was required to have independent intellectual property rights, and the provider must demonstrate strong technical support capabilities.

Technical Challenges and Solutions

Faced with tight schedules and heavy tasks, SPR-ing--being a high-tech enterprise with R&D capabilities in high-speed slip ring collectors--was unanimously recommended by relevant experts due to its innovative design schemes, advanced technologies, and mature manufacturing experience. We promptly established a project team to kick off the work without hesitation. While 20,000rpm high-speed slip ring collectors are technically mature for SPR-ing, this special product featured a unique design: the collector's main shaft served as a transmission shaft, with a maximum torque of up to 400N*m.

The torque requirement led to an increase in shaft size, and since the shaft dimensions are proportional to the linear speed of the contact friction pair, frictional heat accumulated rapidly. The designed maximum linear speed of this product reached 32m/s, exceeding our previous experimental data of 28m/s--a challenge never encountered in high-speed transmission before, posing a new test for the technical team.

Project Execution and Quality Assurance

Over the short span of more than three months, SPR-ing conducted technical feasibility reviews, technical scheme evaluations, and production process assessments. The team decomposed tasks, reviewed technical progress, and coordinated production on a weekly basis. Proactive efforts were made to tackle technical difficulties in advance, with every link required to achieve excellence--ensuring the delivered slip rings were flawless and avoiding any impact on the client's project development progress due to quality issues. Finally, after passing internal quality inspections, the finished products were ready for presentation.

Acceptance and Results

On December 9, 2024, the on-site acceptance meeting was held as scheduled. The expert review panel visited SPR-ing's laboratory for physical inspection. The institute's experts thoroughly checked every detail specified in the technical agreement, covering product appearance, structure, rotational speed, service life, electrical noise signals, temperature control, component quality, and production quality management. They also conducted acceptance comparisons using their own instruments alongside SPR-ing's testing equipment.

After three days of comprehensive tests, all indicators met the requirements of the design specification, earning high praise from the acceptance experts. SPR-ing submitted a complete set of documents, including the High-Speed Slip Ring Collector Life Verification Test Report, High-Speed Slip Ring Collector Torque Loading Test Report, and product manuals.

The soul of quality lies in craftsmanship! Exceptional products stem from a team of SPR-ing employees dedicated to research, committed to overcoming challenges, and willing to endure hardships.
